Historic Rural Hill Presents North Carolina Brewers and Music Festival

A celebration of North Carolina Brewing and Real Music”
2022 NCBMF dates TBA.

Dear North Carolina Brewers and Music Festival Family,

We’d like to begin by saying how much have we missed you all this past year and that we hope this message finds you happy and healthy. It has been a rough and confusing year for all of us, and we know we are not alone as we eagerly watch to see how vaccination numbers and increased social distancing might begin to wind down that ongoing sense of confusion and eventually bring us all closer to something that might feel at least a little normal.

As we all know, the festival industry has been crippled over the past year, not only by a broad loss of income but also by a continued uncertainty regarding when it will be safe to plan medium- and large-scale outdoor events. That uncertainty has been something we have struggled with daily. And though it breaks our hearts, we unfortunately have to announce again that, due to that ongoing uncertainty, we are forced to conclude that we cannot safely hold the 2021 NC Brewer’s and Music Festival.

Though we want nothing more than to be back out at Rural Hill enjoying this year's festival, our ongoing commitment to the safety of our staff, volunteers, artists and brewers, and more importantly our patrons, will always be our top priority.

And so, we believe that the only responsible choice available is to wait until 2022 to hold our favorite festival. After a year away from the festival that we all love, we had hoped to offer better news, but the reality is that hosting a large-scale public event simply remains too dangerous at the moment.

Therefore, as we move forward and begin planning for the festival's return in 2022, we are offering three options to all of our ticket holders.

Option #1:  You can hold onto your current ticket and it will be honored for the 2022 event knowing that we don’t have a lineup for 2022 yet.

Option #2: We will issue a full refund to all who want one.  To do that simply submit your request through eventbrite and we will process them as quickly as we can.

Option #3: You can donate your ticket money directly to Historic Rural Hill.  As a non-profit organization, part of Rural Hill’s survival relies on its ability to host events, and they have been hit as hard as anyone.  Most years, the NCBMF is a great fundraiser, and the money raised supports Rural Hill’s education programming, historic preservation, and general operations. Your donation could help sustain those efforts. Your generous contribution would be greatly appreciated by Rural Hill, and it would also be tax deductible for you, as Rural Hill is a 501c-3 non-profit organization that we are all proud to support.

No matter what choice you make for your existing ticket purchase, we ask that you please remain hopeful with us as we all navigate our way out of this uncertainty. And as importantly, please rest assured that this is NOT the end of the NC Brewer’s and Music Festival. Two years feels like forever, but we are just as eager as you to be enjoying a beautiful May weekend filled with live music and local beer at picturesque Rural Hill.  We are confident that 2022 will come as a giant sigh of relief to all of us, and we can’t wait to bring you an even more amazing NCBMF for years to come. Thank you so much for your continued patience and gracious understanding, but mostly for your continued support of the festival. You are our festival family, and we miss you all. We can't wait to see you again in 2022.

Our very best to each of you,
Historic Rural Hill and 5string Productions

We are humbled by the amount of support Historic Rural Hill has received through putting on this festival.

And it is for this reason that we continue to pour our souls into it. Every event held at Rural Hill - a 501(c)(3) nonprofit - is in support of our mission as a historic site and center for education. If you are interested in volunteering or donating to further our cause, please click here.
